Myself and another teacher each teach a section of Principles of Engineering, from the PLTW program. Though the VEX equipment has its own controller, and allows for code-machine interaction, we are thinking of having our students build Pi-Bots in the fourth quarter. The other teacher has been playing with some Arduino experiments, and I just started. I've just built my first Pi-Bot, and got the motor running. For a price point of $49, I think this is a perfect project for our Engineering class. Even though the Pi-Bot can be re-constructed, I'm thinking that we ask the students to pay for their own so that they can keep them when the year is over. If there are any other teachers out there, the Pi-Bot is a great all-in-one project that is worth the money!
