Some users will have the following warning when using Google Chrome to install MiniBloq: miniBloq.v0.82.PiBot.Win (2).exe is malicious, and Chrome has blocked it. Recover malicious fileRemove from list
Please be aware that this message should not be a concern and is expected for the following reasons. Our site has not been hacked (and we will continue to closely monitor it!). We are aware of the concern that this raises but remain sure that there are no issues with this installation package.
miniBloq's package contains a few executable files inside, which may be seem suspicious by Google and others. Some of the exes there, like the avrdude (the command line utility from GNU to program the Arduino-compatible boards) access the hardware at low level, and that kind of operations are not what Google like to see. But even sending an exe by GMail is a forbidden operation for Google.
In addition, a DropBox source is not precisely a trusted source for Google either. (a double whammy!)
If you would like to take extra precautions, you can always scan the downloaded file with your preferred antivirus software after having downloaded it. But, be aware, that some antiviruses may say still say that it is still "suspicious" for the above reasons.
